ELEVEN people were injured when a fish carrier bumped a passenger bus along the highway in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police said Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Raymond Bautista, Police Station 2 chief, said the incident occurred around 10:49 a.m., Tuesday, at Sitio Mala in the village of Panubigan.
Bautista said 10 of the victims were passengers of a public utility bus while the other one is an assistant of the fish carrier truck.
He said investigation showed that Nemesio Lambo Jr., 47, lost control of the truck’s steering wheel when one of its front tires blew up and crashed to the passenger bus while traversing on the same direction in a curved road.
Both the passenger bus and the truck were traveling towards the direction of the city proper coming from Pagadian City and Cagayan de Oro City, respectively.
The passenger bus was driven by Hendrew Povadora, 39. Both drivers escaped unscathed. All the victims were declared on stable condition. (SunStar Philippines)
