Wednesday, May 03, 2017

Dipolog City, Philippines.

A 39-YEAR-OLD suspected illegal drug courier was arrested Sunday, April 30, in Dipolog City through the joint effort of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The suspect was identified as Marlon Siason who was caught in an entrapment operation around 8:30 p.m., Sunday, in the village of Sta. Filomena, Dipolog City.

Zamboanga del Norte Police Director Edwin Buenaventura Wagan said the suspect was arrested after the joint police and PDEA operatives received confidential information that the suspect will receive shipment of illegal drugs through a passenger bus coming from Ozamis City.

Wagan said the joint team confiscated six heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," with still undetermined street value from the suspect. The illegal drug was inserted in a pair of shoes that was placed in a brown paper bag, he added.

He said the suspect was detained for the filing of appropriate charges while close monitoring continue on inbound public utility vehicles against shipment of illegal drugs. (SunStar Philippines)
