WINWYN Marquez denied rumors that she and her boyfriend of more than year, Mark Herras, are engaged.
In a recent interview, Marquez said that Herras was just joking when he posted a photo of them together with an engagement ring emoji.
She admitted though that they already discuss about when to settle down and start their own family.
"Assuming kasi ng mga tao. Eto naman kasing si Mark, wala na daw siyang maisip. Gusto nga raw niya akong pakasalan someday but it doesn’t mean we were engaged," Marquez said at the press conference of "Mulawin vs Ravena".
Marquez, 25, and Herras, 30, believe they are both in the right age to talk about the next chapter of their relationship.
"We're not engaged pero we talk about it. Kasi syempre when you’re in a relationship hindi mo naman iisipin na short time di ba if you are in a relationship iisipin mo siya na yung last," she said.
"When I’m in a relationship with a man and he talks about that, it gives a sign that he’s serious and he has plans with you. Kesa naman sabihin niya na hindi, mag bar na lang tayo. Inuman tayo dyan sa club. For me it’s better that way. Wala naman dapat katakutan, it’s just planning. Its better you have security about that part of your relationship," she added.
Marquez said that Herras having a child with another woman is not a deal breaker.
She said more than anyone, she should understand his situation as she also has half-siblings from both her parents, actors Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez.
"I came from a family who has half sisters, half brothers and my mom and dad are separated but the good thing is they explained to us what happened. They didn’t lie about me having half sisters and half brothers."
The actress added that she already met Herras' kid.
"Hindi siya parang may anak na si Mark. Kasi may ganung tao. May anak na si Mark ganyan ganyan, sabi ko okay ako andami kong kapatid. Na sa mentalidad na nang tao how you handle it. Open minded naman ako e," she said.
As for Herras' relationship with her family, Marquez admitted that his father, Joey, had a hard time accepting at first that she already has a boyfriend.
But eventually her father tried to reach out to the actor/dancer when he saw the intentions of the latter.
"My Dad nung first, syempre tatay medyo rocky. I told him I'm not getting any younger and nung Holy Week magkakasama kami ininvite ng Dad ko siya sa Baguio so yun mom ko okay naman. Akala ata ng parents ko 16 pa lang yata ako. Hindi pa siguro sila maka move on na magtu-26 na ko."
Marquez said she wants to settle down in two years time as she also wants to have a kid before she turned 30.
She added that it wouldn't be a long engagement.
"For me, if you're engaged gusto ko pakasalan ako kaagad. Wag na patagalin kasal agad. Pero wag muna ngayon," the actress ended.
Marquez is part of primetime series "Mulawin vs Ravena" headlined by Lovi Poe, Regine Velasquez and Dennis Trillo on GMA Network. (SunStar Philippines)
