RP Elite 13U cage team gets tested in PYD Regional

FRESH from winning the title in the Asia Cup U13 championship in Hong Kong recently, the RP Elite 13 Under basketball team will tested when they join the Pinoy Youth Dreamers (PYD) Regional Basketball Challenge starting on Thursday, May 25, at the old Sacred Heart School for boys gym in Cebu city.

According to coach Mark Herrera, he wants to preserve the camaraderie of his team that is why he is joining this tournament organized by Pinoy Youth Dreamers founder coach Beaujing Acot.

"We want to have a whole year round program for RP Elite so that we can develop and produce more players for Gilas Pilipinas. We are also looking for new players to be part of our RP pool,” Herrera added.

It will be a good exposure for the RP Elite U13 team as teams from all over the country are joining the weeklong competition.

PYD Cagayan de Oro Chapter coach James Recines is sending three teams, one each in the 13 Under, 16 Under, and 18 Under categories.

Members of the RP Elite team include Ian Chua, Joshua Edrozo,JV Lumanog, Prince Alao, James Ganotosi, Javi Jugo, Andre Herrera, Irus Chua, Kevin Flores, Nathan Victoria, Dexter Alapar, and assistant coaches Edwin Ancheta, and Benjie Diswe.
