AUTHORITIES on Thursday, May 4, arrested a village councilor and two other drug suspects in a drug bust that yielded P70,000 worth of illegal drugs at Montana Vista, Grand Europa, Lumbia village, Cagayan de Oro City.

Police identified the suspects as 45-year-old Jaylord Cabulay, incumbent village councilor of San Simon, this city; Marc Jim Decena, 37, resident of said subdivision; and John Marasigan, 36, resident of Frontiera subdivision.

Police said Cabulay was level 2 high value target of the Directorate for Intelligence of the Philippine National Police headquarters.

Senior Inspector Dennis Ebsolo, police station 8 chief, said the target was Decena whose house was allegedly used as drug den.

The raiding team seized two big sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” weighing 10 grams.

Ebsolo said prominent personalities in the city were monitored to have been frequently visiting the said house.

"Taod-taod nani galisod lang mi og penetrate kay high-end subdivision man gud dili kaayo ta basta-basta ka access," Ebsolo said.

Ebsolo said Cabulay allegedly has control of San Simon, Pagatpat and neighboring hinterland village in his illegal drug trade.

The police station chief added the village official also ventures in subdivisions for his illegal drug business.

"Mao ni nga mga areas iyang gakaabtan lapad na gyud iyang network sa illegal drugs," Ebsolo said.

Ebsolo said Cabulay was trying to conceal his drug involvement by facilitating “Oplan Tokhang” in the village.

The police obtained information from informants tipping off the involvement of the village official in illegal drug activities.

"Murag wala siya nag-surrender sa tokhang siya lang ang ga-facilitate aron dili siya madakpan,"Ebsolo said.

The suspects were detained at the station's custodial facility and will be charged with various violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

Ebsolo said the suspects were not cooperative while the subdivision's homeowners lauded the successful operation.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old drug suspect who allegedly delivers illegal drugs to young people was arrested in a sting operation that yielded P300,000 worth of “shabu” at Agora, Lapasan, this city, Wednesday, May 3.

The suspect identified as Bolkiah Ala originally lives in Marawi City but has been occupying a boarding house with his two other siblings in the said village for over a month.

Senior Inspector Maricris Mulat, police station 1 chief, said they recovered the suspect's cellphone containing list of customers and supposed supplier of illegal drugs.

Mulat said there were more than five names in the said cellphone which the police are now tracking their whereabouts.

"Sa Marawi daw gikan ang supply. Nakita sa iyang cellphone ang mga pangalan sa iyang gina-remitan ug mga collectibles,"Mulat said.

The suspect was nabbed following the arrest of other drug suspects whom authorities believed was connected with Ala.

Mulat said the suspect has been delivering “shabu” mostly to young people in Macabalan, Lapasan and the city proper as well.

"Kasagaran sa iyang mga customer mga batan-on ra pud," Mulat said.
