THE Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Baguio Chapter is continuously asking support from donors to help sustain the necessity of some patients in the city needing blood units.
Eddie Carta, a board of director of Philippine Red Cross Baguio Chapter, said some patients need more donors to help them sustain what they need.
Monday’s blood donation drive collected 150,000 cc.
"In this blood donation, we believe it will help our patients to save their lives. We have conducted this activity in order to collect more blood units than the collection in a normal basis. We are very thankful to all the donors who came here and supported this event," Carta said.
According to Red Cross Baguio, there are five to 15 patients needing blood units every day. However, they cannot sustain these numbers because of the lack of donors.
"We will continue to conduct a mass blood donation here to sustain what our patients need. Through your donation, you are becoming a hero by helping and saving lives," Carta said.
Most of the blood type collected is Type "O" followed by "A" and "B," and "AB." (Ian Jefrey Addatu)
